What is a contractor manager?

Contractor Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of contractors hired by an organization. They ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specified standards and regulations. Their duties include selecting and negotiating with contractors, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements. To thrive as a Contractor Manager, you need strong project management skills, knowledge of contract law, and a background in construction or procurement, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with contract management software, project scheduling tools, and compliance systems is typically required.
