Job description

Starting Rate of Pay: $32.88 per hour

Job Duties:

  • Perform odorant (sniff) tests as required.

  • Perform regulator maintenance at various district regulator stations as needed.

  • Perform pressure adjustments throughout the distribution system as needed.

  • Inspection and maintenance on emergency shut-down valves as required.

  • Perform odorizer inspection and maintenance at various gate stations as needed.

  • Perform valve repairs at regulation and gate stations as needed.

  • Install, operate, and maintain boilers, panel, and pilot heaters.

  • Purge and pickle gas mains.

  • Assist with pressure-in-place projects or up rates on gas distribution systems.

  • Perform end-point installation.

  • Perform bending, mechanical fittings, and pipe-threading as related to piping and tubing projects.

  • Perform rigging, lifting, and crane operations as needed.

  • Possess basic knowledge of and ability to perform basic control wiring.

  • Perform pressure tests.

  • Ability to work On-Call and to respond to after-hours emergencies.

  • Perform all other miscellaneous tasks/projects within classification as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

H.S. Diploma or the equivalent (GED).

EXTERNAL candidates ONLY must successfully complete company approved EEI testing (CAST aptitude test). An EEI Test (CAST Test) practice test is available by visiting: https://jobs.eversrouce.com/eeo.

Minimum of 3.5 years of gas-related field experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Individual must demonstrate strong interest, aptitude, and knowledge in the following areas (as appropriate to the equipment and facilities for the region): Regulator inspection and gate station operations and maintenance. Ability to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to environmental elements e.g., extreme heat, cold, etc. May be exposed to confined spaces, solvents, cutting oils, epoxies, flammable gases, and nuisance dusts, floor to knuckle lifting will be a major job role.
