Commercial Electrical Apprentice – Power & Controls Installation


Job Overview:

●    Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Apprentice Electrician License, Valid Driver's License


The Opportunity

As an Apprentice Electrician at D&L Electric Company, Inc, you will gain hands-on commercial field experience while working directly alongside experienced Journeymen and Foremen across Houston. You will sharpen your technical craft, learn to execute installations strictly to NEC standards, and build a rewarding career path with a family-owned contractor that invests in your long-term growth and treats you like family.


How You Will Make an Impact

●    Install underground PVC conduit (), handling trenching, backfilling, and tamping according to NEC guidelines.

●    Measure, bend, and run EMT conduit proficiently ( for custom  bends, offsets, and saddles;  with pre-manufactured fittings).

●    Route, push, and pull fish tapes and wire feeders across circuits ranging from #12 AWG up to 750 KCMIL.

●    Install commercial devices, switches, standard receptacles, and low-voltage lighting control components.

●    Properly terminate power equipment, including main panels, dry-type transformers, and disconnect switches.

●    Support high-elevation work on ladders and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) up to 40 feet or higher.


Required Qualifications & Experience

●    Active Texas Apprentice Electrician License.

●    Valid Driver's License with dependable transportation.

●    Possession of basic personal hand tools required for everyday electrical trade work.

●    Physical ability to work comfortably from step/extension ladders and MEWPs at elevated heights ().


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

●    3 years of hands-on experience in commercial or industrial electrical installation.

●    Demonstrated foundational knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and EMT bending.

●    Driven, punctual, dedicated, and eager to advance toward Journeyman licensure.
