THE JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY IS A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS THAT HAS BEEN DOING ALL PHASES OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING WORK SINCE 1945.

We have established lasting relationships with many residential, commercial, and industrial customers. We are a unique electrical contractor due to the fact that we perform so many different types of electrical work. We perform residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work, including sports lighting, airport lighting, traffic signal, underground systems, pole-line, and utility work. With over 120 employees and 300 pieces of equipment, there is no job too small or too large for Jess Howard Electric Company.

POSITION DESCRIPTION DETAILS

In this role, the Electrician Apprentice will work with skilled tradesmen to install new and service existing electrical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Support activities at commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential locations. Training for apprentice will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Work under the direction of a Journeyman Electrician

Install power supply wiring and conduit.

Troubleshooting electrical components.

Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems.

Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Ensuring code compliance of electrical installations.

Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

High school or GED.

Attend a 4-year electrical apprenticeship school.

Have or be willing to obtain Class A CDL license in good standing.

Have or be willing to achieve Fire Alarm license.

Understand the hazards and safety practices involved in working around high voltage equipment and moving machinery.
