Job description

Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

The Journeyman Electrician installs, maintains, and connects electrical systems and tooling for manufacturing equipment and power distribution systems in a large semiconductor environment. This role focuses on safe and efficient installation of conduit, conductors, disconnects, panels, and related equipment, while supporting equipment startup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities. The position requires strict adherence to safety procedures and detailed documentation of completed work.

Responsibilities

  • Install conduit, conductors, disconnects, panels, and related electrical equipment for new tooling and manufacturing systems.
  • Install and connect electrical power systems for new tooling and equipment, including power distribution tooling connections.
  • Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities for industrial and manufacturing equipment and power distribution systems.
  • Assist with equipment startup, testing, and troubleshooting to support commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning support for electrical systems and tooling connections.
  • Execute lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and perform energized electrical work in accordance with established safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with site safety rules.
  • Maintain compliance with safety requirements and reporting processes, including timely and accurate documentation.
  • Document completed work, including installation details and test results, and support punch list resolution and commissioning documentation.
  • Support punch list completion by identifying, addressing, and closing out outstanding items related to electrical installation and commissioning.
  • Work collaboratively with licensed electricians and apprentices to safely execute project tasks and support commissioning and startup activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout all phases of installation, maintenance, and commissioning.

Essential Skills

  • Valid TDLR electrician license and status.
  • Demonstrated experience performing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair in industrial or construction environments.
  • High-voltage work experience, including working with systems rated at 600 volts or more.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, and power distribution networks.
  • Ability to install conduit, conductors, disconnects, panels, and related electrical equipment to applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in performing power distribution tooling connections and supporting equipment startup and testing.
  • Thorough understanding and practical application of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and energized electrical work practices.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to PPE requirements and general electrical safety practices.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow electrical plans, specifications, and safety procedures.
  • Capability to maintain accurate documentation of completed work and commissioning activities.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a large industrial or semiconductor facility, including extensive walking and physical activity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in semiconductor facilities is beneficial.
  • Experience with SAS Taylor environments is a plus.
  • Industrial construction experience, including installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
  • Supervisory skills or experience leading small teams in electrical installation projects.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain clean and orderly work areas and manage punch lists.
  • Ability to collaborate with licensed electricians, apprentices, and cross-functional teams.
  • Contractor must provide their own hand tools, RMS meters, and PPE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54.29 - $54.29/hr.
