  • Required: Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license and be insurable by the District
  • Preferred: High school graduate or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Preferred: Basic 2-way radio communications

Experience:
  • Preferred: 1-year truck driving experience.

  • Able to communicate with Food Service office personnel, cafeteria, and contract warehouse personnel.
  • Relates positively to others.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Professional appearance and appropriate attire for job.

Function
Under the supervision of the warehouse foreman, load and make truck deliveries as scheduled.
Reports To:
Responsibilities:
  • Able to drive a truck.
  • Perform weekly pre-trip inspection as scheduled.
  • Count, record, load in carts, put on truck, and deliver groceries, food, meat, and bakery products as scheduled.
  • Make any extra deliveries, as necessary.
  • Assist in unloading and stocking merchandise delivered to warehouse and cooler/freezer.
  • Clean loading area and yard.
  • Unload truck.
  • Return all equipment (racks, trays, boxes, dollies) to proper storage area.
  • Assist in warehouse and cooler/freezer.
  • Lift or carry 1 to 60 lbs. frequently, 61 and more lbs. occasionally.
  • Bend, stoop, and work with machinery frequently, reach above shoulder level occasionally, and drive equipment/vehicles continuously.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and scaffolds occasionally.
  • Walk and stand continuously. Sit occasionally.
  • Paint in summer.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
