Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Tempe, AZ that is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to play a key role supporting and recovering complex high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and UHF RF circuit boards used in complex communication systems. This position focuses on advanced board-level troubleshooting, technical recovery, sustainment, and operational life extension of mission-critical communication hardware.
Responsibilities:
* Diagnose and recover complex embedded hardware systems at the board, subsystem, and component level
* Analyze high-speed digital, mixed-signal, power supply, and UHF RF circuits
* Troubleshoot systems containing FPGAs, DSPs, CPUs, DDR memory, Ethernet, SATA, PCIe, and related technologies
* Assist with end-of-life component replacement and hardware sustainment strategies
* Develop technical documentation, recovery procedures, and engineering processes
* Serve as a technical expert for deployed communication boards and embedded systems
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline
* 7+ years of experience with high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuit engineering
* Hands-on digital hardware design skills
* Strong debugging and failure analysis experience with embedded hardware systems
* Proficiency reading schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and technical documentation
* Strong communication, collaboration, and technical problem-solving skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
