This role is responsible for managing the logistics rate structure in SAP and ensuring accurate, timely processing of payables for barge, rail, truck, terminal, and warehouse operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update SAP transportation routing and ratings, including accessorial charges for barge, rail, and truck shipments.
  • Review current logistics rates, deactivate inactive rates, and ensure proper routing and rating prior to monthly close.
  • Process SAP Post Traffic orders daily.
  • Research, enter, and maintain weekly fuel surcharge data in SAP per contract requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute summary spreadsheets to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review and approve logistics invoices against contracted rates.
  • Allocate charges accurately to G/L Cost Elements and Cost Centers.
  • Monitor unaccrued logistics invoice charges, validate backup documentation, and coordinate re-billing to OCC customers.
  • Assist Truck Operations with SAP setup for new motor carriers.
  • Support SAP IT with testing and operational validation during upgrades or system changes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline freight payable processes.
  • Maintain and update the desktop master invoice manual and logistics contract files (barge, rail, truck, terminal, warehouse) in compliance with OxyChem policies.
  • Assist with logistics claims from filing through collection.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business, Accounting, or applicable experience.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external partners (rail, truck, terminal, warehouse).
  • High attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP (preferably S4), and Railtrac or similar systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in logistics or accounting.
