The Role

CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking 2 Professional Translators for government services assignments based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. You will provide expert written translation services supporting diplomatic, administrative, and operational communications for federal government agencies. This position requires fluency in Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic and/or Algerian Arabic/Darja) and English, with demonstrated ability to produce accurate, culturally appropriate translations of complex government documents.


What You Will Do

  • Document Translation: Translate official correspondence, policy documents, reports, and administrative materials between Arabic and English
  • Diplomatic Communications: Support translation of diplomatic cables, memoranda, and briefing materials with precision and cultural sensitivity
  • Technical Translation: Handle specialized terminology in legal, political, economic, and administrative contexts
  • Quality Assurance: Review and proofread translated materials for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to government style guides
  • Cultural Consultation: Provide cultural context and guidance to ensure communications are appropriate for target audiences
  • Terminology Management: Maintain glossaries and translation memories for consistency across documents and projects


What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native fluency in Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic required; Algerian Arabic/Darja strongly preferred)
  • Native or near-native fluency in English
  • Minimum 2 years of professional translation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex documents accurately and efficiently
  • Must be eligible for government security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
