ABOUT OUR CLIENT / ABOUT THE ROLE
Medix is currently seeking a Telecom / Cabling Technician for a 1+year contract opportunity with our healthcare client in the Milwaukee area.
Our client is a large health system, going through a company-wide VoIP refresh. This Technician will be assisting by unboxing, setting up and validating the new IP Phones. There will also be cabling and telecom panel patch management (66 and 110 blocks, punch-down tools).
Please note that this role is onsite Monday - Friday, based out of Milwaukee
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unboxing, putting together, and readying the new VoIP phones for deployment
- Upgrading the software and firmware on the phones
- Placing phones at their required destinations throughout the hospital
- Managing the 66 and 110 blocks, using punch-down tools on a regular basis
- Assisting in replacing legacy Ethernet cabling with new Cat6 line
- Testing /validating connections
- Running / managing clean and efficient cabling in the closets and data centers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in Ethernet Cabling
- Must have experience with traditional punch-down telecom terminals (66 block / 110 block)
- Should have familiarity with punch-down tools
- An independent worker
- Ability to lift up to 25+ lbs
