Job description

Responsible for the management and execution of Logistics related projects and associated contract activities for Samsung Electronics America. As an experienced member in the Samsung logistics organization (LPS) the position will strategize, and execute projects, scope of which includes (but is not limited to) Warehouse space analytics, Site selection, Site build-out and Project Management, Warehouse and 3PL Cost & Pricing analysis, Request for Proposal (RFP) and Contract Negotiations with Logistics Service Providers. In-depth knowledge of Warehousing solutions are critical, Transportation knowledge is beneficial. Candidate must have positive leadership qualities such as good communication, ability to quickly provide solutions, well-organized, ability to manage multiple high priorities, and lead a team. This position will require strong data analytics skillset, process design, and communication skills to engage with business partners, logistics service providers and legal teams.

  • Execute logistics projects to support overall distribution of Samsung Consumer Electronics, Home Appliance and Mobile products.
  • Coordinate with internal Samsung team(s) to identify warehouse space needs for Forward/ Reverse logistics.
  • Responsible for site selection activities with external third party commercial real-estate team(s).
  • Negotiate lease rates, contract terms and conditions to ensure cost benefits and operational success.
  • Lead projects related to NEW site build out activities, warehouse improvements, site consolidation, relocation or closure.
  • Carry out Request for Proposal (RFP) activities to identify qualified logistics service providers to operate Samsung warehouse.
  • Perform in-depth cost analysis and financial modeling to ensure a competitive RFP outcome.
  • Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support proposal and contract development
  • Manage contract negotiations with internal legal team(s) and external third-party service providers.
  • Leads small teams of professionals with limited control over budget spending or HR management such as recruiting or dismissal and supervises mentoring and coaching for team members
  • Typically implements short-term action plans rather than developing policy, process or strategy
  • Enhances or Improves methods or procedures and provides coaching to team members to ensure successful outcome
  • Has expertise in most or all job areas within a job family
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
  • Typically requires a minimum 12 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 7 years experience
