Job description

SIMULATION ENGINEER

Location: Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri - On-site
Schedule: Full-time, 0730-1630, Monday through Friday, with additional support during experimentation events

Position Summary

Plans, configures, integrates, validates, and operates the modeling and simulation environments used by the FBLP Experimentation Division. The position translates experiment objectives and design documents into accurate, accredited, and operational simulation environments that support Army concept and capability development.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configure, integrate, test, and maintain simulation federations using Bifrost, High Level Architecture, or Distributed Interactive Simulation.
  • Install, configure, and test simulation applications and software on SIMNET workstations and servers.
  • Conduct verification and validation of models, simulations, data-collection systems, and analytical outputs.
  • Prepare and maintain simulation accreditation documentation.
  • Develop simulation training plans and coordinate WMSL data requests and supporting data products.
  • Develop and enter experiment entities, force structures, scenarios, behaviors, and task-force data.
  • Test scenarios to confirm that entities, behaviors, and conditions represent the experiment design.
  • Participate in technical working groups and initial, mid, and final planning conferences.
  • Execute constructive simulation events, technical integration events, spiral tests, pilot runs, and record runs.
  • Perform battlemaster duties, including system startup, mission saves, shutdown procedures, event monitoring, issue logging, and scenario updates.
  • Train simulation interactors and operators on simulation systems, relevant military doctrine, and experimentation procedures.
  • Coordinate with system and network administrators to diagnose technical issues during experiments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and active Secret eligibility supported by a Tier 3 investigation, as required by the final solicitation and DD Form 254.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Army or DoD modeling, simulation, experimentation, or mission-command environments.
  • Experience with constructive simulation, scenario development, federation architectures, and simulation verification and validation.
  • Working knowledge of OneSAF or Army simulations, HLA, DIS, Bifrost, DoDAF, and force structures.
  • Ability to interpret experiment designs, military operational concepts, and DOTMLPF capability questions.
  • Must satisfy any common DoD 8140, IAT Level II, Security+, server, Linux, networking, and experience requirements retained in the final solicitation.
