Job description

Robotics and Autonomy Solutions Engineer
Velociti, LLC | Riverside, MO
Pay Range: $120,000 - $175,000
Design and Deploy the Next Generation of Autonomous Solutions
Velociti is seeking a Robotics and Autonomy Solutions Engineer to help design, integrate, and deploy robotics and autonomous systems across customer environments. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working across the full solution lifecycle-from concept and pilot through real-world deployment.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Principals, and engineering teams to deliver automation solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
About the Role
The Robotics and Autonomy Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, testing, and support of robotics and autonomous systems used within Velociti's customer environments. This role requires strong technical depth in robotics and industrial automation, along with the ability to work directly with customers during pilots and deployments.
This position reports to the SVP, Product & Solution Architecture and is based onsite in Riverside, MO, with travel required for customer sites, pilots, and deployments. While the role is not remote, occasional work-from-home flexibility is available with prior coordination and approval.
Key Responsibilities
Robotics and Autonomy Design
  • Design and engineer robotics and autonomous system solutions for industrial and fleet environments
  • Support system architecture development for autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, and automation platforms
  • Evaluate robotics hardware, sensors, and control systems for customer applications

Solution Engineering and Deployment
  • Support pilots, proofs of concept, and production deployments of robotics and autonomy solutions
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers on network, connectivity, and infrastructure integration
  • Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting

Customer and Sales Support
  • Serve as a technical expert during customer engagements, demonstrations, and solution reviews
  • Translate customer requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
  • Provide post-deployment technical support and optimization recommendations

Technology Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on robotics, autonomy, AI-driven automation, and industrial control trends
  • Support evaluation of new platforms, vendors, and technologies
  • Contribute to internal documentation, standards, and best practices

Key Performance Metrics
  • Successful design, testing, and deployment of robotics and autonomy solutions meeting defined customer requirements and performance targets
  • On-time, high-quality execution of pilots and proof-of-concept deployments with clear documentation and operational handoff
  • Reduced escalations and rework through strong upfront design, validation, and field readiness planning
  • Positive customer feedback on technical expertise, solution performance, and deployment support
  • Effective collaboration with Sales, Systems Engineering, and partner teams to deliver feasible and scalable solutions
  • Contributions to internal standards, documentation, and repeatable deployment best practices

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Five or more years of experience designing or supporting robotics or autonomous systems
  • Strong understanding of sensors, controls, robotics software, and automation platforms
  • Experience supporting pilots and real-world deployments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Willingness to travel around 30% for customer and deployment support

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Primarily office-based work using computers and standard office equipment
  • Extended periods of sitting and frequent use of communication tools
  • Occasional standing, walking, or movement between offices
  • Standard business hours Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours for projects or deployments
  • Minimal physical exertion required
