Job description

The Role:

We're looking for a product designer with an exceptional craft bar to help shape a complex software product.
The hard part of this role isn't handling complexity - it's making complexity disappear. We want someone who can take a genuinely thorny problem space and ship something that feels obvious, fast, and well-made. Think the way a Ramp, Linear, or Attio treats an equally complicated domain.
This is a product design role, not a traditional enterprise UX role. If your instinct is to start with a requirements doc and a stakeholder matrix, this isn't the fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help shape product direction alongside product and engineering - not wait to be handed specs
  • Prototype fast and often; put something in front of people in days, not sprints
  • Design core surfaces end to end, with real interaction depth - empty states, loading, errors, keyboard behavior, motion
  • Bring a strong point of view on craft and hold the quality bar
  • Establish the visual and systemic foundation the product grows on
  • Operate with ambiguity: figure out what's needed, then go build it

Required Skills:

  • Craft and taste, first. Your portfolio should make us want to use the thing. We're looking for evidence you've made something complicated feel simple - clear hierarchy, considered interaction detail, restraint. Show us the polish.
  • Product design instincts. You've shaped direction, not just executed tickets.
  • Startup pace. You've worked somewhere small and fast, where the answer wasn't known in advance and you figured it out by building.
  • Depth on complex interfaces. Data-dense views, filtering, multi-step flows, role-based experiences - ideally in a product where users were demanding and the UI still felt great.
  • Expert Figma, high-fidelity prototyping, and the ability to defend design decisions to non-designers.

Nice to have:

  • Front-end fluency or coded prototyping
  • Design systems built for scale
  • A track record at a venture-backed product company
What We're Not Optimizing For
  • We'd rather get the caliber and type of designer right than match industry background.
    • Domain or industry experience is not required
    • Years of experience is not a filter - a five-year designer with an outstanding portfolio beats a fifteen-year designer with a process deck
    • Deep enterprise or Fortune 500 UX tenure is not an advantage, and can be a liability if it came with heavy process and a low visual bar
Employment type:
  • Contract
  • Fully remote in the USA

*Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
