We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can confidently manage industrial construction and material handling projects from award through closeout - including projects performed as a subcontractor under General Contractors (GCs). This role is especially well suited for someone who understands the documentation, communication, safety, and coordination requirements that come with GC-managed projects and can take ownership of those requirements without constant direction.

Position Overview

This is a full-time remote position for candidates currently residing in the United States. East Coast – West Coast or Chicago candidates are preferred. The Project Manager will work closely with REB Sales, Design, Engineering, vendors, subcontractors, installation teams, customers, and General Contractors to keep multiple projects organized, compliant, profitable, and on schedule.

General Contractor Experience – Preferred

REB is currently working on several projects under General Contractors. These projects require significant coordination, recurring meetings, safety compliance, and detailed documentation. We are specifically seeking a Project Manager who has personally handled these responsibilities and understands how to keep GC requirements from making project delays, compliance issues, or administrative bottlenecks.

·    Work directly with General Contractors and understand the responsibilities and expectations of a subcontractor throughout the project lifecycle.

·    Review GC contracts, project manuals, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project-specific requirements; identify obligations, deadlines, deliverables, and potential risks.

·    Attend and actively participate in required GC weekly progress, coordination, safety, and project meetings; document and follow through on action items.

·    Prepare, collect, submit, and track required GC paperwork and project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, closeout documents, and other required forms.

·    Prepare and coordinate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and other project-specific safety documentation required before and during installation.

·    Understand and coordinate GC and jobsite safety requirements, including product and installation safety requirements, site-specific procedures, and subcontractor compliance.

·    Communicate GC requirements clearly to REB's internal teams, installers, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders so expectations are understood before work begins.

·    Maintain organized records of submissions, approvals, meeting commitments, outstanding items, and deadlines; proactively follow up until requirements are resolved.

·    Recognize when a GC requirement may affect schedule, scope, cost, safety, installation, or payment and escalate or address it before it becomes a larger issue.

Core Project Management Responsibilities

·    Lead multiple material handling projects from award through customer acceptance and closeout.

·    Review bids and project scope; evaluate priorities based on lead time, quality, schedule, and job requirements.

·    Source vendor capabilities and costs; coordinate required materials and subcontractors.

·    Develop and maintain project schedules; obtain material lead times; coordinate logistics and freight; provide proactive updates to customers and project stakeholders.

·    Review installation drawings and bills of material with Designers and coordinate special requirements with installation subcontractors before project start.

·    Coordinate permitting requirements when applicable; review permit drawings and structural calculation packages and obtain sprinkler/electrical requirements for project drawings.

·    Communicate clearly with customers, General Contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, Sales, Design, Engineering, building departments, installation teams, and management.

·    Monitor project budgets, profitability, schedules, change orders, project milestones, and customer invoicing requirements.

·    Maintain accurate Project Pricing Summary (PPS) reports, project logs, documentation, and records.

·    Address punch-list items, obtain customer sign-off, and coordinate successful project closeout.

·    Manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.

·    Identify opportunities to improve processes, communication, documentation, and project efficiencies.

What We're Looking For

·    Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in industrial construction, commercial construction, material handling, implementation projects, or a closely related environment.

·    Demonstrated experience working under General Contractors and personally managing GC requirements from award through closeout.

·    Hands-on experience with construction documentation such as contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, JHAs/safety documentation, meeting requirements, and closeout packages.

·    Ability to review extensive contracts, drawings, specifications, and project manuals and translate them into clear, trackable project requirements.

·    Demonstrated understanding of project profitability, scheduling, permitting, installation requirements, change-order processes, and defining project scope.

·    Strong written, verbal, and listening skills with the confidence to communicate professionally with GCs, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.

·    Exceptional organization, documentation, follow-through, and time-management skills.

·    Ability to independently manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work environment.

·    Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar project-management tools preferred.

·    Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SAP, Procore, ACC and Building Connected programs - experience are a plus.

·    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, PMP certification/training, or an Associate's degree with additional relevant experience considered.

·    Ability to travel 50-75% to project sites as business needs require.

·    Independently manage assigned projects from award through closeout while maintaining schedule, profitability, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

·    Take ownership of GC-driven projects, including meetings, paperwork, safety documentation, JHAs, submissions, deadlines, and follow-up.

·    Build trusted working relationships with General Contractors, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and REB teammates.

·    Consistently identify requirements and risks early rather than reacting after they affect the project.

·    Become known as a dependable Project Manager who communicates proactively, follows through, and helps reduce the administrative and coordination burden on the broader Project Management team.

·    Contribute ideas that improve project execution, documentation, efficiency, and the customer experience.
