Job description

Project Coordinator

Company: System One Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite) Pay Rate: $37.00 – $74.00 per hour Position Type: Long-Term Contract

System One is seeking a Project Coordinator to support a major advanced nuclear energy project in Bellevue, Washington. This role will work closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to coordinate project planning, execution, and closeout activities while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with scope and technical objectives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced supporting complex engineering or technical projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project cost, schedule, and scope management using project management best practices.
  • Assist project teams in achieving project milestones while maintaining budget, schedule, and technical performance objectives.
  • Support planning activities by coordinating work scope, staffing plans, and resource allocation with engineering and project management teams.
  • Develop and maintain resource-loaded project schedules and adjust plans as project priorities evolve.
  • Monitor project cost and schedule performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and identify variances.
  • Assist in developing corrective action plans, recovery plans, and variance mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain project documentation and records in accordance with corporate procedures.
  • Maintain project risk registers and track mitigation activities.
  • Coordinate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure compliance with project management standards and processes.
  • Prepare project reports, status updates, and meeting documentation.
  • Support communication and coordination across multidisciplinary project teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting project management or project delivery.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary, matrixed engineering organizations.
  • Knowledge of project planning, implementation, and project execution.
  • Working knowledge of project scheduling, budget tracking, Earned Value Management (EVM), and project controls.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Visio
    • Microsoft Project
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a collaborative team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience using Primavera P6.
  • Experience supporting engineering, construction, energy, or other technically complex projects.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts and project requirements.
