Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid โ€” 3 to 4 days in office)

Position Overview

Aertron, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in aviation safety, regulatory strategy, and AI/ML integration for safety-critical systems. Aertron supports government and industry partners across aviation research, evaluation, certification, and modernization initiatives spanning the National Airspace System (NAS) and emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations.

Aertron is seeking a Program Analyst to support the planning, execution, and reporting of aviation programs and technical projects. In this role, you will build and maintain program data, track cost and schedule performance, analyze trends and risks, and produce recurring reports and briefing-quality products that help program leadership and stakeholders make informed decisions. You will work closely with program managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to keep complex, multi-workstream efforts on track, on budget, and fully documented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and analyze program and project data, including cost, schedule, and performance indicators.
  • Track project schedules, perform critical path analysis, identify schedule trends, and support schedule optimization.
  • Develop and analyze recurring (weekly and monthly) reports on program metrics for technical and executive audiences.
  • Identify potential project trends, risks, and issues, and surface them to program management with supporting analysis.
  • Support development of cost estimates for procurement and acquisition actions, including cost-benefit and trade-off analyses.
  • Develop and refine business processes, procedures, and tools based on program needs and stakeholder requirements.
  • Support quality assurance activities and help ensure program documentation is accurate, traceable, and audit-ready.
  • Maintain program artifacts and status reporting using Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in program analysis, project controls, business analysis, or a related quantitative and analytical role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tools.
  • Experience building status reports, dashboards, and metrics for technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts such as cost and schedule tracking, critical path, risk identification, and earned value or similar performance measures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document methods and assumptions for government or regulatory review.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to present findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government suitability / public trust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal programs, government acquisition, or contract program management.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes, procurement lifecycles, or acquisition management systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or demonstrated progress toward it.
  • Experience in aviation, aerospace, or the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) / Urban Air Mobility (UAM) sector.
  • Masterโ€™s degree (e.g., MBA) in a related field.
