Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private label and contract packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. We have two manufacturing facilities located in IL and WI. We provide products to many national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, as well as industrial accounts including other food manufacturers.
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the people, processes, procedures and related controls to ensure timely and accurate production in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. The Production Supervisor is a hands on, working manager accountable for the design, documentation, implementation, audit and continuous improvement for all production related standard work, projects and related systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate production according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Supervises daily production team during assigned shift.
  • Responsible for planning appropriate inventory levels to ensure production requirements and specifications are met in order to achieve customer orders.
  • Ensure proper training of all employees regarding GMPs, Safety, Quality and other company procedures.
  • Responsible for collecting production data and identifying variances compared to standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining company Safety and OSHA standards.
  • Handles employee concerns and issues
  • Responsible for setting schedules and approving employees time in the Dayforce system
  • Manage employee time and attendance in Dayforce system and updates hours appropriately.
  • Updates and communicates labor needs regularly.
  • Promote Safety standards. Records and investigates all safety incidents and near misses to help reduce future accidents.
  • Provides and receives feedback to develop employees and future leaders.
  • All other duties as assigned by Management or volunteered for.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus

Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Must have experience working with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Must have experience with quality and hygiene requirements common in food manufacturing.
  • Must have experience managing employees in a food production environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong management, leadership, organizational and scheduling ability.
  • Must have experience working in a production environment with food or other FDA regulated products.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills

  • Problem solving skills including Lean 6-Sigma related tools with excellent decision-making capabilities.

Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The work environment is cold (30 to 35 degree) on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor will spend 90% of their time in the factory.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk.
  • The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.

Pay and Benefits
The following information is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws. Compensation is based on experience, geographic locations, and other legally permitted factors. The expected compensation range for this role is $75,000-$80,000.
