Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Contracts Manager to be based in one of our offices in East Syracuse, NY, Quincy, MA, Orlando, FL, or Auburn Hills, MI. This position supports the proposal, negotiation, and execution (including modifications) of a diverse portfolio of contracts within our Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Defense business unit. This portfolio includes domestic, international, commercial, and U.S. Government customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage contract responsibilities. The Contracts Manager will lead contract negotiations, provide oversight to the Contracts team, evaluate new business opportunities, and offer recommendations to business management that minimize risk while maximizing financial results.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate complex contract terms and conditions with a broad range of domestic, international, and government customers.

  • Manage contracts throughout all phases of the contract lifecycle.

  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and applicable government regulations, including export control requirements.

  • Support capture efforts across the business by participating in proposal development and reviews.

  • Review complex commercial and defense proposals for compliance with requirements of the Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ), with particular focus on identification and mitigation or elimination of proposal and contract execution risks.

  • Engage with management, customer and supplier leadership, and domestic and international customers.

  • Prepare and present contractual terms and conditions analyses to management, including risk analyses, mitigation options, business ramifications and opportunities, and negotiation strategies, while ensuring consistency with business objectives and corporate policies.

  • Contribute to and implement the organizational vision and take steps to achieve short-term and long-term business objectives.

  • Lead efforts to evaluate and improve existing processes and address process gaps with appropriate documentation.

  • Provide broad technical contractual guidance to internal customers.

  • Apply a global perspective to the business environment and technology.

  • Demonstrate forward-looking thinking and identify future infrastructure enhancements to the Contracts organization in support of corporate growth and strategic direction.

  • Travel up to 25% annually, both domestically and internationally.

Syracuse, NY, Orlando, FL, or Auburn Hills, MI: $101,600 - $132,000

Quincy, MA: $121,900 - $158,500

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Business or a related discipline with 10+ years of experience, or an MBA/JD with 8+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and administering contracts from the capture phase through close-out for multiple contract types.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple tasks, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers.

  • Experience negotiating commercial and defense contracts with domestic, international, and government customers.

  • Expertise in identifying contractual risk and advising businesses, especially in the areas of liability, intellectual property, liquidated damages, financial instruments, and international law.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate Requests for Proposal and work with the proposal team to develop proposal strategies that mitigate risk and are aligned with the goals of the business.

  • Experience working with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), or their equivalents, including applicable supplements, guidelines, requirements, and procedures, and for international pursuits and contracts, ensuring compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Ability to contribute to strategy development and lead strategic initiatives supporting functional and business objectives.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance, if required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CCM, CFCM, or CPCM.

  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS).

  • Experience with cybersecurity and information security terms and conditions, policies, and regulations.

  • Experience with Oracle ERP.
