HDR is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support and advance our enterprise adoption of Microsoft Power Apps, with a focus on modernizing and replacing legacy tools with secure, scalable, M365 native solutions. Based in Charlotte, NC, this role will partner closely with our nation Power Apps team and project delivery groups across the company to design, support, and continuously improve applications that enable project controls, reporting, and workflow automation. HDR is making a deliberate, long-term investment in the Power Platform, and this position plays a key role in that commitment.

In this role, we'll count on you to:
• Design and develop Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) application
• Build applications using Dataverse and SharePoint Online as core data source
• Develop Power Automate flows to support application logic, approvals, and integration
• Translate business requirements into structured application designs, including data models, forms, and workflow
• Integrate Power Apps solutions with external systems (e.g., scheduling or cost tools) where needed
• Collaborate with project teams, PMO, and business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver effective Power Apps-based solution
• Work with project teams to deploy, test, and improve applications used in active project environment
• Contribute to Power Platform standards and best practices across HDR
• Contribute to HDR's long term Power Platform strategy by helping evolve scalable solutions across project types and business groups.
• Report and coordinate with Project Controls Technology Manager, Project Delivery Lead and Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience developing applications using Microsoft Power Platform
• Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with external systems or API
• Familiarity with JavaScript, JSON, SQL, or similar technologies used to extend low-code solution
• Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-900, PL-400, PL-200)
• Experience developing Power BI dashboard
• Experience working in project delivery, engineering, construction, or similar operational environment
• Familiarity with project controls concepts (cost, schedule, reporting) and how they are applied in project environment
• Local candidates preferred
Candidates are strongly encouraged to include a portfolio or GitHub repository demonstrating relevant Power Platform or application development work.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in project construction management, engineering, or technology field
  • Introductory experience and aptitude in business data management, processes, analysis
  • Motivated self-starter and ability to think creatively
  • Introductory skill set to include working with Microsoft 365 applications such as SharePoint Online, Excel, power Automate, Forms, Teams or Power BI
  • Experience with converting business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long- and short-term tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities
