Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gear Cutter A to join our precision machining team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating gear cutting machines to produce high-quality gears according to engineering specifications and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate gear cutting machines such as hobbing, shaping, and broaching machines.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine gear specifications.
  • Inspect finished gears using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in gear cutting or precision machining.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with CNC gear cutting equipment.
  • Knowledge of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and cutting techniques.
