Job description

Work Schedule: Weekend Shift — Friday-Sunday 6am-6:30pm SUMMARY

The CNC Punch Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Trumpf CNC punch equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet customer specifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth production flow, precision, and safety on the shop floor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary Functions
  • Set up and operate Trumpf CNC punch machines according to production schedules.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate part fabrication.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on punch equipment.

  • Use measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, tapes, gauges) to verify part quality.

  • Build punch tooling for jobs as needed.

  • Safely unload and handle parts after cutting operations.

  • Occasionally operate a forklift to move materials.

  • Maintain productivity standards while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Follow all OSHA, company safety, and equipment maintenance procedures.

  • Promote teamwork, positive communication, and adherence to company values.

  • Follow all verbal and written instructions, as well as safety and quality protocols.

  • Lead and support a team of production employees to meet daily output, quality, and efficiency goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience operating CNC punch equipment (Trumpf experience preferred).

  • Familiarity with automation and CNC troubleshooting.

  • Familiar with varying types of sheet metal (aluminum, galvanized, galvanneal, stainless, etc.).

  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools.

  • Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to support team success across departments.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
