Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in California, requiring a valid CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
Job Details
• 13-week contract for a Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit in an acute care hospital setting,
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM,
• Every other weekend required,
• On-call required as needed,
• Floating to other units within scope of practice is expected, including to alternate campuses,
• Travelers should anticipate approximately 1.5 hours' notice prior to shift start when floating is requested,
• A shuttle is provided when floating to another campus,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Telemetry experience required,
• EKG experience preferred,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates,
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration,
Additional Information
• Responsible for the full nursing process including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes in an acute care setting,
• Provides holistic, individualized care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors,
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and communicate daily patient care plans,
• Educates patients and families throughout the care continuum, including transitions of care and discharge planning,
• Accurately documents all treatment information and patient responses in the electronic health record (EHR),
• May serve as a clinical resource or mentor to newly hired staff and assist with orientation as requested,
• Only one holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the contract
