They may work independently or as part of a team to gather data, analyze findings, and provide insights that inform Nike’s product development and marketing strategies. Unlike full-time employees, contract researchers typically work for a set period or on specific projects, offering specialized expertise without a long-term employment commitment. This role often requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of research methodologies, and familiarity with the athletic apparel or footwear industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract Nike researcher?

To thrive as a Contract Nike Researcher, you need a background in research methodologies, data analysis, and relevant industry knowledge, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Experience with analytics tools like SPSS, Tableau, or Qualtrics, and familiarity with survey design and reporting systems are typically required. Strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability are important soft skills for collaborating with diverse teams and presenting actionable insights. These skills and qualities enable accurate, data-driven decision-making that supports Nike's innovation and market strategy.

What are some common challenges faced by contract researchers at Nike, and how can they be addressed?

Contract researchers at Nike often work on innovative projects with tight deadlines, which can make time management and adapting to shifting priorities challenging. Navigating cross-functional teams—such as collaborating with designers, engineers, and marketers—requires strong communication and adaptability. To address these challenges, it's helpful to proactively seek clarification on project goals, regularly check in with team leads, and stay current with Nike's research methodologies and tools.
