VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care, has a PRN opening for a Spanish Interpreter/Translator! The Interpreter would primarily work at our sites in Bridgewater, MA but could work at any of our sites across the state of Massachusetts. Our sites are located in Gardner, Lancaster, Shirley, Framingham, Concord, Norfolk, Bridgewater, and Roslindale.

SPANISH INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR SUMMARY

The Interpreter/Translator is responsible for converting oral speech and written text from one language to another in a variety of contexts.


SPANISH INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR FUNCTIONS

  • Carefully listens to or reads content including jargon and acronyms in the original language.
  • Understands and analyzes what is being said or written, and effectively and accurately translates the message, intent, and nuances being communicated.
  • Reproduces statements or questions in the desired output language.
  • Facilitates effective communication among individuals, companies, courts, schools, or other interested parties.
  • Provides simultaneous interpretation (SI) or consecutive interpretation (CI) depending on the desired outcome.
  • Uses equipment such as microphones or headsets to ensure precise and timely translations or interpretations.
  • Gathers, develops, and maintains lists of terminology and information that may be used in technical translations such as legal or medical materials.
  • Protects the confidentiality of information and adheres to any related ethical or professional codes.
  • Appropriately understand and respond to culturally sensitive situations, perspectives, and phrases.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening skills and auditory recall to remember spoken words and to accurately reproduce them in the desired language.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all company software required for the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SPANISH INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in and thorough understanding of the primary language(s) being translated.
  • Completion of a Medical Interpreter Training Course from a well-regarded institution.
  • Bachelors degree and three years of related experience preferred.
