Description
Accountant - Contractor - Phoenix AZ Agility 360 is searching for an Accountant - Contract - Phoenix AZ to collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting Manager and accounting team to complete projects supporting both the bank and holding company, including implementation of accounting standards and SEC and regulatory financial reporting requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting Manager and accounting team to complete projects supporting both the bank and holding company, including implementation of accounting standards and SEC and regulatory financial reporting requirements.
  • Provide accounting support to the bank and holding company, including operational accounting, journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, accruals, amortizations, transaction analysis, and intercompany accounting.
  • Support Treasury and investment accounting activities.
  • Perform accounting research and complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors and regulatory examiners by responding to inquiries and providing supporting documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, internal policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Assist managers with monthend, quarterend, and annual close processes.
  • Provide accounting support across assigned areas of the Accounting Department to meet service and operational needs.
  • Prepare and process complex journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Learn and support multiple functions across the Accounting team to provide adequate task coverage.
  • Assist with accounting transactions requiring detailed research and analysis.
  • Interface with management, external auditors, and regulatory agencies regarding accounting and financial reporting matters.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required); Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience in Accounting, Finance (general ledger management, public reporting, or financial analysis), or a similar field.
  • Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance requirements, industry standards, and banking practices.
  • Intermediate understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Intermediate proficiency in accounting systems and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
