We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.

Position Overview

GTI is seeking a highly analytical Materials Planner to support production planning, material readiness, and inventory execution across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for aligning material availability with production schedules, monitoring shortages, analyzing demand signals, and driving proactive planning decisions to support operational performance.

The Manufacturing Materials Planner will operate at the intersection of Supply Chain, Production Control, Procurement, and Manufacturing Operations, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production flow and customer delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical capability, ERP system experience, and a background supporting manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments.

Key Responsibilities

Materials Planning & Production Support

• Develop and maintain material plans aligned with production schedules and manufacturing demand

• Ensure material availability supports fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, and final build operations

• Monitor production schedules, BOM requirements, and inventory levels to identify shortages or supply risks

• Coordinate with Procurement, Production Control, and Operations teams to resolve material constraints

• Support material readiness for new product launches, engineering changes, and production ramp activities

Demand Analysis & Planning Coordination

• Analyze demand signals, production forecasts, and consumption trends to support planning decisions

• Review MRP outputs and validate planning recommendations for accuracy and operational impact

• Identify gaps between supply and demand and escalate risks proactively

• Support planning alignment across manufacturing schedules, supplier lead times, and inventory strategies

• Maintain planning parameters and support continuous improvement of planning accuracy

Inventory Management & Optimization

• Monitor inventory levels, excess inventory, shortages, and slow-moving materials

• Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining production continuity

• Analyze inventory turns, usage trends, and replenishment performance

• Drive improvements in material flow, inventory accuracy, and stock availability

• Support cycle count reconciliation and inventory control activities where needed

ERP, Data Analysis & Reporting

• Utilize ERP systems to manage planning activities, material transactions, and production requirements

• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data analysis tools supporting operational visibility

• Analyze planning metrics including shortages, inventory turns, schedule attainment, and material availability

• Support leadership reporting and KPI tracking for Supply Chain and Operations teams

• Identify data inconsistencies and drive corrective actions to improve system accuracy

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Procurement, Production Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Warehouse teams

• Support communication between departments regarding material readiness, shortages, and schedule impacts

• Align material planning priorities with operational goals and production milestones

• Participate in daily production meetings and planning reviews

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

• Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives related to material flow and planning efficiency

• Conduct Root Cause Analysis on recurring shortages, planning gaps, or inventory discrepancies

• Improve planning processes, workflows, and reporting tools to increase operational efficiency

• Help standardize planning methods and materials management best practices across facilities

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Analytics, Engineering, or related field preferred

• 3–7+ years of experience in Materials Planning, Production Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or related role

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

• Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or engineered product environments

• Strong ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar platforms)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting fabrication, assembly, electrical integration, or engineered-to-order manufacturing operations

• Familiarity with MRP systems, production scheduling, and inventory optimization strategies

• Experience with Supply Chain KPIs including inventory turns, on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and forecast accuracy

• APICS / CPIM certification preferred

• Experience with Power BI, SQL, or data visualization tools preferred

• Experience supporting high-growth manufacturing operations preferred
