Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
The International Contracts Manager supports the Amazon Leo for Government team focusing on international government and commercial customers. You are responsible for leading our effort to deliver a documented contracts management approach for international customers. This approach will be scalable as ALG expands to serve its international customer base.
The person filling this role will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling international contract management strategy in a written context. The person filling this role will be familiar with relevant global government acquisition guidelines, have supported international government and commercial pursuits, and be experienced with relevant international government compliance requirements. The person filling this role will leverage their knowledge and skills to decide what actions to select stakeholders to determine the right goals and inform decisions. The person filling this role will take the lead on ALG specific international contract initiatives, while delivering independently (seeking and accepting direction when needed).
In this role you will:
• Leverage your familiarity with relevant global government acquisition guidelines and compliance requirements to lead development of contract management strategies applicable for international government and commercial customers
• Manage and lead contract management efforts for international government and commercial customers
• Develop and use deep industry background that enables you to engage and communicate effectively on a wide range of technical and business discussions with customers, partners, and internal Amazon Leo team members
• Leverage your expertise and judgment to work through and document strategy for Amazon Leo for Government international contract management, including relevant stakeholders.
• Be a thought leader with respect to international contract management and process improvement
• Identify and clear blockers with the right resources, escalating when appropriate
• Demonstrate leadership and ability to navigate through complex problems, weighing various priorities and options, and managing multiple options and constraints
• Communicate clearly and effectively to peers and leadership on the plans, status, and critical issues
• Foster a constructive dialogue, harmonizes discordant views, and leads the resolution of contentious issues
• Drives adoption of best practices for operational excellence
• Accelerates progress by creating or optimizing multiple cross-team procedures.
Key job responsibilities
o Support proposal development and negotiations for both prime contracts and subcontract opportunities.
o Support contract execution through working with team members to release request for proposals/quotes, negotiation positions, documenting trade-off decision for leadership, tracking contractual deliverables, and process contract close-out procedures.
o Develop international contract management team short term and long-term goals/objectives.
o Establish and execute a plan to achieve the documented goals/objectives.
o Working with finance partners, track metrics in regards to actual contractual spend and revenue; as well as forecasted financials; milestone completion; etc.
o Establish, maintain and execute SOP and templates related to international contracts
Export Control Requirement - This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
- Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience working in a fast-moving consumer business
- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
