Job description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill a Maintenance Technician position for a manufacturing client in Athens, AL. This is a Temp/Contract job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of plant equipment and facilities
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Repair machinery and equipment to minimize production downtime
• Perform preventative maintenance, including inspecting motors, belts, and fluid levels
• Diagnose malfunctions using testing equipment, schematics, and drawings
• Dismantle and reassemble machines to replace defective parts
• Plan and complete repair work using blueprints, manuals, and diagrams
• Install and repair electrical components, wiring, piping, and machinery
• Clean and lubricate machinery components such as shafts, bearings, and gears
• Maintain HVAC systems and overall facility operations
• Complete PMs and ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation (USD):

$20.00 - $40.00/hour
Depending on Experience

Schedule:

1st Shift
Monday - Friday
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Overtime and on-call work may be required

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Technical school training preferred
• 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience (CNC environment required)
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and plant maintenance systems
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Experience with CNC equipment and tooling
• Forklift and aerial lift experience preferred
• PLC/automation experience a plus
• Fabrication and machining experience (manual mill/lathe) a plus
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
