Job description

The rental mechanic position is responsible for keeping all of our equipment clean and correctly maintained. This is a full-time position, scheduled up to 45 hours per week. Must have open availablity to work days, evenings and weekends.  This position will report to our Hartford City, IN store location. 
Essential Functions:
  1. Provides excellent customer service to our internal and external customers.
  2. Cleans all rental equipment.
  3. Conducts repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generates purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
  4. Purchases small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
  5. Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
  6. Assists in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
  7. Checks out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
  8. Deliver and pick up rental items as needed.
  9. Set up and take down rental equipment if requested.
  10. Help load and unload equipment as needed.
  11. Help out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, scheduled up to 45 hours per week. Must have open availablity to work days, evenings and weekends.
Travel:
Must have a valid drivers license to deliver and pick up rental equipment as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED diploma or one to three years of related experience or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1+ years knowledge of general machine maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License required. Chauffeur’s license preferred but not required.
