Job description

AI Platform & Agent Engineer

Contract position

Houston, TX -Hybrid

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years developing AI-enabled applications.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing AI agents, agent orchestration frameworks, AI workflows, or LLM-powered applications.
  • Experience developing full-stack applications using modern web technologies and APIs.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • Experience building integrations with enterprise applications and services.
  • Experience implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, knowledge management, or semantic retrieval solutions.
  • Experience with vector databases and practical understanding of graph databases and knowledge graphs.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL, data quality, profiling, cleansing, governance, and metadata management.
  • Experience developing on Microsoft Azure, including services such as App Services, Functions, Storage, AI Foundry, Data Factory, Databricks, and related cloud services.
  • Familiarity with secure application design, Responsible AI principles, and enterprise governance practices.
  • Ability to independently drive technical work from concept through delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred :

  • Experience designing and deploying multi-agent systems and agentic architectures in production environments.
  • Experience building reusable AI platforms, AI accelerators, or enterprise AI foundations.
  • Experience developing custom agent tools, skills, plugins, or MCP-enabled integrations.
  • Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, prompt testing, and model performance optimization.
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI services, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with Ansible automation and deployment frameworks.
  • Knowledge of master data management, asset management, maintenance and reliability processes.
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, Predix, Smart Plant Instrumentation, Documentum, or related industrial systems.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, energy, operations, supply chain, or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Experience working in Agile product teams delivering enterprise-scale software solutions.
  • Contribute to architecture and engineering best practices.
