Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

The Rexnord Business System (RBS) Manager must have an operational focus. This position deploys strategy by focusing on implementing Lean Methodologies and driving business breakthroughs, Kaizen events, and team development within our business units. We strive for operational excellence across all functional areas and processes by deploying Lean tools and Six Sigma principles. The RBS Manager plays an active role in driving accelerated operating and financial performance through continuous process improvement and execution of breakthrough strategies. The RBS Manager will have alignment to a strategic business and work closely with the business unit to deliver strategic initiatives. Emphasis is on leadership, continuous improvement skills and culture building that will lead to self- sustaining capabilities at domestic and international locations. This position has high visibility with the site leadership team and reports directly to the Plant Manager. Strong leaders within the RBS group are typically direct successors to major functional leadership roles in Operations, and Commercial areas as well as Plant manager, and Operations Director role.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Drives tangible and measurable improvements of key processes through the leadership, training and mentoring of a team.
  • Assist teams in developing a Continuous Improvement Roadmap to use in the deployment of strategic objectives.
  • Coach and mentor various associates in the use of various Lean tools, concepts and practices around RBS.
  • Directly supports a site in achieving strategic deployment objectives by conducting on-site workshops, kaizen events, assessments and providing guidance through the lean transformation process.
  • Identifies and shares best practices across the site and Aerospace division.
  • Work with the Plant Manager and other functional leaders as a "thought leader" to define current state situation, assess gaps in process, capabilities, & talent, while assisting in the development of the future state in line with strategic plans.

Experience and Skill Required:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in industrial engineering, operations management, or related discipline
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • A minimum of five years of manufacturing experience, preference for experience working in a variety of operationally focused functions such as Operations, Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience implementing LEAN tools and concepts in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma
  • Experience working in a shop that manufactures metal components a plus
  • A continuous improvement mindset demonstrated by using LEAN tools to make business improvements with tangible financial results
