Duration: Temporary/Contract (9-12 months)
Estimated Dates: February 23, 2026 - June 30, 2026
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (CST)
Position Overview
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) is seeking a talented and creative Videographer / Video Editor to support the department's communications, outreach, and digital storytelling initiatives. This full-time contract role will focus on producing compelling video content that showcases Tennessee agriculture, TDA programs, events, initiatives, and partners across the state.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller with hands-on experience in both video production and post-production editing, comfortable working independently, collaborating with communications teams, and traveling statewide for on-location shoots. In addition to video, this role will contribute to broader social media content creation through visual assets and creative support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for websites, social media platforms, and internal communications
  • Capture on-location video across Tennessee, including farms, events, facilities, and partner sites
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop video concepts, storyboards, and creative assets aligned with TDA branding and messaging
  • Edit raw footage into polished final products, including graphics, music, captions, color correction, and formatting for multiple platforms
  • Support social media initiatives by creating visual assets and contributing to creative concepts and campaigns
  • Ensure all video content meets accessibility and ADA compliance standards, including captioning
  • Manage video equipment, footage organization, file storage, and content archives
  • Balance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in videography and video editing
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality video content from concept through final delivery
  • Proficiency with professional video equipment and editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
  • Strong storytelling, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience contributing to social media content beyond video (graphics, visual assets, campaign support)
  • Basic graphic design experience using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Canva
  • Experience producing content for government, nonprofit, or public-sector organizations
  • Familiarity with social media video formats and best practices
Work Environment
  • Full-time contract role (9-12 months)
  • Hybrid work environment with flexibility for remote editing when appropriate
  • Frequent in-state travel required for filming
