What is a contract insurance restoration contractor?

A Contract Insurance Restoration Contractor is a professional who specializes in repairing and restoring properties that have been damaged by events such as fire, water, storms, or other disasters. These contractors work closely with insurance companies and property owners to assess the damage, estimate costs, and carry out the necessary repairs in accordance with insurance policies. Their expertise ensures that restoration work meets industry standards and that clients receive fair compensation for covered losses. They often manage the entire restoration process, from initial cleanup to final reconstruction, helping clients navigate insurance claims efficiently.

Job description

JOB TITLE: Project Manager: Restoration & Reconstruction

OVERVIEW: Evolution Restoration & Renovation is a Phoenix-based restoration and reconstruction company specializing in insurance-driven water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation projects. We work directly with homeowners, insurance carriers, TPAs, and adjusters to restore properties from emergency to fully rebuilt — with one team and one point of contact the entire way.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who can own a job from the moment it is sold through the final walkthrough. You will be the homeowner's main contact, the field team's leader, and the person who makes sure every milestone, budget, and timeline stays on track.

This is a fast-paced, field-integrated role. You will not be managing from a desk. You will be on job sites, solving problems, and keeping projects moving.

WEBSITE: https://evorestore.com

LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ (field-based)

SCHEDULE: Full-Time / Monday through Friday / On-call availability as needed

TYPE: Long-Term with Growth Opportunity

COMPENSATION: Based on experience: $61K-$84K per year

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, budget, and resource requirements
  • Review approved estimates and translate them into actionable work schedules
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and code compliance requirements from start to finish

Team and Subcontractor Management

  • Assemble and lead field crews, assigning tasks and holding teams accountable to timelines
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, confirm availability, verify licensing and insurance, and ensure work meets Evolution's standards
  • Provide clear direction and support to field personnel throughout every phase of the project

Budget and Cost Management

  • Manage individual job budgets, track expenses, and flag variances early
  • Process change orders accurately and ensure all cost adjustments are documented and approved
  • Coordinate with the estimating team when scope changes require updated pricing

Schedule Management

  • Build and maintain project schedules with clear milestones and completion targets
  • Proactively identify delays and develop solutions before they impact the homeowner or the timeline
  • Keep all parties aligned on progress and next steps at every stage

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners from project kickoff through final walkthrough
  • Communicate proactively — set expectations, provide updates, and address concerns before they become complaints
  • Represent Evolution's commitment to treating every home with care and professionalism

Insurance and Adjuster Coordination

  • Work alongside estimators to ensure the approved scope of work is executed correctly
  • Document progress, changes, and completed work in a way that supports the claims process
  • Communicate with adjusters or TPAs as needed to support approvals and supplements

Quality Control

  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, safety compliance, and cleanliness
  • Ensure job sites reflect Evolution's standard — a clean site speaks for the company
  • Complete final walkthroughs with homeowners to confirm satisfaction before project closure

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain complete, organized project files including contracts, permits, change orders, photos, and progress reports
  • Log notes and updates consistently in the CRM so ownership and operations have full visibility
  • Generate progress reports for internal leadership as required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Prior experience in restoration, construction, or renovation project management — required
  • Familiarity with insurance-driven restoration projects, TPAs, and adjuster workflows — strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills — you will be talking to stressed homeowners, field crews, subcontractors, and adjusters every day
  • Ability to manage multiple active jobs simultaneously without losing details
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with documentation
  • Problem-solver who stays calm under pressure and finds solutions instead of excuses
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — this is a field-based role
  • Looking for a long-term opportunity with a company that is growing

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to the homeowner's satisfaction
  • Every homeowner is kept informed and never left wondering what is happening with their home
  • Job site documentation is current, organized, and complete at all times
  • Field teams and subcontractors are held to Evolution's quality and cleanliness standards on every job
  • Issues are escalated early — no surprises for ownership or operations

WHY JOIN US

  • Work with a company that has a real system — one team from emergency to rebuild, not a patchwork of contractors
  • Direct exposure to complex, high-value insurance restoration projects
  • Supportive ownership that invests in the right people
  • Long-term role with advancement potential as the company grows
  • Be part of a team that takes pride in the work and the way they treat people's homes
