Job description

What we would like to see:

We are seeking engaging and experienced GMAT instructors to join forces with an innovative, technology driven, Chicago based start-up focused on education services and standardized test training programs.

Ideal instructor will not only have proven competency as a test taker with scores at or above the 90th percentile on the GMAT exam, but also possess instructional abilities to articulate and solve a collection of questions related to the GMAT curriculum in a professional studio setting.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for our office and studio located in downtown Chicago. You will have the flexibility to prepare for the training and perform administrative task from home but will require commute to our studio location for all live presentations and recording sessions.

A typical day as an experienced GMAT instructor:
  • Plan and prepare well articulated solutions for GMAT questions scheduled to be recorded at the studio

  • Plan and prepare primer on basic knowledge required to take on various topics of GMAT's computer adaptive test along with examples for context

  • Plan and prepare primer on basic strategies for each of the GMAT testing topics along with examples for context

  • Present and explain solutions to various GMAT questions in a professional studio setting

  • Expound on follow-up questions from the students on various channels like emails or online forum

  • Review presentations and training materials for accuracy and clarity

What you will need to bring to the table:
  • 2+ years' experience of working as an educator or a training specialist

  • GMAT scores at or above the 90th percentile

  • In-depth knowledge of GMAT topics, GMAT Official Guides and computer adaptive testing process

  • Excellent ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences

  • Experience in organizing full training cycle is preferred

  • Experience with learning management software, MS Office and databases is preferred

  • BS degree in Education, Training, HR or other related area is preferred
