Job Description
Job Description

Our client, a growing manufacturer in a complex, high-mix production environment, is seeking a Material Planner – Advanced Planning to support the Master Planner in maintaining accurate material plans and reviewing Infor SyteLine Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) outputs.

In this role, you'll monitor shortages, planned orders, supplier dates, inventory, jobs, and planning exceptions to help ensure materials are available when needed. You'll run daily and weekly planning activities in Infor SyteLine APS, validate planning results against customer orders and production schedules, trace supply through multi-level bills of material, and recommend purchase, job, transfer, reschedule, or expedite actions.

This is an experienced individual-contributor role that works cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, and Program Management, executing established planning processes and escalating significant risks and tradeoffs to the Master Planner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running assigned Infor SyteLine APS planning activities and reviewing exception messages, shortage reports, and demand changes
  • Maintaining time-phased material plans and monitoring material availability against production schedules
  • Coordinating with buyers and commodity managers on supplier commitments and recovery dates
  • Maintaining planning data such as lead times, order minimums, safety stock, and planning fences
  • Monitoring inventory levels, shortages, and obsolescence exposure, and driving shortage lists to closure
  • Participating in production, shortage, and S&OP meetings
  • Tracking planning metrics (material availability, past-due supply, schedule attainment) and recommending process improvements

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in material planning, production planning, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain within electronics, computer hardware, medical devices, defense, or another complex discrete-manufacturing environment
  • Working experience with Infor SyteLine / CloudSuite Industrial APS, MRP, or a comparable advanced planning system
  • Practical understanding of planned orders, exception messages, bills of material, routings, lead times, safety stock, order policies, and inventory transactions
  • Experience supporting multi-level bills of material, variable component lead times, constrained supply, and high-mix/low-volume production
  • Strong Excel and data-analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or progress toward certification
  • Hands-on experience with Infor SyteLine APS planning runs, planned orders, exception messages, and demand tracing
  • Experience in regulated, long-lifecycle, customer-configured, or electronics manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of S&OP, lean manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, or structured continuous-improvement methods

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Tuition and certification reimbursement
  • Employee assistance and wellness programs
