What is a contract Google data analyst?

Contract Google Data Analysts are professionals hired on a temporary or project basis to analyze and interpret data for Google or its clients. They use tools such as SQL, Python, and Google Analytics to gather insights, create reports, and help inform business decisions. Unlike full-time employees, contract analysts typically work for a set duration or specific project, often through a staffing agency or as independent contractors. Their responsibilities may include data cleaning, visualization, and presenting findings to stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently within fast-paced environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract Google data analyst?

To thrive as a Contract Google Data Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in statistics, and experience with data modeling, typically supported by a relevant degree in data science, statistics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, BigQuery, SQL, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Data Studio is essential, and Google Analytics certification is often preferred. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help convey insights and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills and qualities are important to extract actionable insights from data, drive business decisions, and deliver value in a dynamic contract environment.

What are some common challenges faced by contract Google data analysts, and how can they be effectively addressed?

Contract Google Data Analysts often face the challenge of quickly adapting to new teams and data systems within a limited timeframe. They must familiarize themselves with company-specific data structures, tools like BigQuery and Looker, and reporting standards while delivering actionable insights promptly. Building strong communication with permanent team members early on and documenting their work thoroughly helps ensure smooth collaboration and project continuity. Proactively seeking feedback and clarifying project expectations can also help contract analysts deliver value efficiently.

Job description

Apogee is seeking a Data Scientist (DS) to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). This role applies data science, statistics, and automation to mission analytics, helping operational and intelligence teams process large, complex datasets and convert them into actionable insights in support of space and missile defense priorities.

The Data Scientist partners with analysts and technical stakeholders to identify high-value analytic problems, engineer and curate datasets, and develop reproducible pipelines and models to automate workflows and enrich mission data. Responsibilities include data exploration and feature engineering; building and evaluating statistical/ML approaches (as appropriate); developing scripts, tools, and dashboards to support analysis and reporting; and communicating results through clear documentation and briefings. The DS also supports data governance and quality efforts, ensures methods are transparent and repeatable, and transitions solutions into operational use in coordination with Government leads and mission users.

This is a full-time opportunity at Petterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO.
