WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a local contract nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a local contract nursing job in Rochester, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

WCS Healthcare is seeking an experienced  Labor & Delivery RN  to join a high‑performing  L&D team at a respected hospital in Rochester, NY. The ideal clinician is confident in fetal monitoring, labor management, emergency response, and supporting providers throughout the childbirth process.

Job Function:

  • Shift: 36 hrs | 3x12 Rotating.
  • Assess and categorize patients into the  appropriate level  of care.
  • Apply and interpret  external fetal monitoring, including fetal heart tracings and uterine activity.
  • Implement  timely  interventions based on fetal heart rate patterns and maternal condition.
  • Identify  and respond to obstetric emergencies, escalating to providers appropriately.
  • Administer medications safely  in accordance with  the  Five Rights  and infection‑control standards.
  • Perform pain assessments and reassess per clinical guidelines.
  • Assist  physicians and midwives during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.

Job Requirements:

  • Active New York RN License (NY ONLY – required)
  • Minimum 2 years of Postpartum / Mother-Baby RN experience
  • Strong experience providing postpartum care and newborn assessment
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required
  • Fetal monitoring certification preferred
