Job description

Registered Nurse – Acute Care

Shift: Nights, 4x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Requirements:

  • NY RN license
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • NIHSS certification (valid NIH required with submission)
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • Travel experience
  • Community hospital experience
  • Trauma Level I experience
  • Experience managing Med/Surg ratios (1:5–1:7)
  • EPIC experience required

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with acute stroke and neurological disorders.
  • Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams.
  • Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy as needed.
  • Support respiratory care initiatives, including administering oxygen and managing airway devices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Orientation: 12 hours
  • Background checks: Reviewed case-by-case
  • COVID-19 vaccine: Not required; Flu vaccine: unknown
  • Return-staff policy: 6 months system-wide
