Job description

Regional Sales Manager – Contract Manufacturing

Steel Tubing | Hot-Dip Galvanizing | Metal Fabrication & Assembly

Organization Summary

Lindsay Corporation (NYSE: LNN) is a leading global manufacturer and distributor of irrigation and infrastructure equipment and technology. Established in 1955, the company has been at the forefront of research and development of innovative solutions to meet the food, fuel, fiber and transportation needs of the world’s rapidly growing population. Lindsay’s irrigation segment includes solutions for agricultural irrigation systems, remote irrigation management and scheduling technology as well as irrigation consulting, design and industrial IoT solutions. Also, a global leader in the transportation industry, Lindsay’s infrastructure segment manufactures equipment to improve road safety and keep traffic moving on the world’s roads, bridges and tunnels. As a global company, Lindsay is committed to growing a healthy culture worldwide in which diversity is supported and employees are empowered. Lindsay’s values (leadership, integrity, collaboration, accountability and respect for others) help drive us to accomplish our mission by working together – because we know we can go farther and faster as a team than we can as individuals.

In addition to its branded product lines, Lindsay operates a Contract Manufacturing business that leverages the company’s world-class manufacturing campus and capabilities – including high-frequency electric resistance welded (ERW) steel tubing, one of the region’s highest-capacity hot-dip galvanizing operations, and full-service metal fabrication and assembly (cutting, forming, punching, machining, MIG/TIG/robotic welding, coating and finished assembly) – to serve OEMs and industrial customers across agriculture, construction, transportation, energy and general industrial markets.

Position Description

Lindsay Corporation is hiring a Regional Sales Manager for its Contract Manufacturing business. This is a unique, hybrid commercial role that combines outside sales/technical support with hands-on inside sales and account management across three core product and service lines: Steel Tubing, Hot-Dip Galvanizing, and Metal Fabrication & Assembly. The Regional Sales Manager will own the full customer lifecycle – from prospecting, quoting and closing new business to order entry, project coordination and post-delivery support – serving as a single commercial point of contact for OEM and industrial accounts within the assigned region.

In this role, you will join a highly collaborative, customer-centric team responsible for growing revenue volume and margins by filling manufacturing capacity with profitable, strategically aligned business. You will work closely with operations, planning, purchasing, engineering, quality, finance and logistics to deliver a seamless customer experience – on time, all the time.

This position reports directly to a Sr. Business Development Manager within the Contract Manufacturing business.

Position Details

  • This is a full-time, salaried exempt position.
  • Based at or near Lindsay’s manufacturing operations in Lindsay, Nebraska, or the corporate office in Omaha, Nebraska.
  • Travel requirements are approximately 25–50%, including customer visits, plant tours, trade shows and industry events.

Duties & Responsibilities

Outside Sales & Technical Support

  • Increase revenue and margin for the Contract Manufacturing business (Steel Tubing, Hot-Dip Galvanizing, and Metal Fabrication & Assembly) within the assigned region to achieve target goals.
  • Execute the region’s go-to-market growth strategy in target end-market segments across OEM and distribution/service center channels.
  • Prospect, qualify and close new contract manufacturing opportunities; lead capability presentations, plant tours and technical discussions with customer engineering, sourcing and operations teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and long-term supply agreements in accordance with company guidelines, with an understanding of steel market dynamics, material surcharges and cost drivers.
  • Engage with current customers and prospects to increase market share and confidence in Lindsay’s manufacturing capabilities, quality systems and on-time delivery performance.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows and association meetings; build and maintain a network of Centers of Influence within target industries.
  • Contribute to capability investment decisions and new service development by bringing customer-driven ideas and voice-of-customer insights back to the business.

Inside Sales & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, managing relationships via phone, email, video and in-person engagement, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare, deliver and follow up on quotations for tubing, galvanizing and fabrication work; collaborate with sourcing, engineering and operations to develop accurate, competitive proposals.
  • Accurately enter and manage sales orders in the ERP system; maintain pricing, review order acknowledgments and ensure alignment between customer requirements and internal documentation.
  • Project-manage booked business with operations, planning and other functional teams to ensure successful completion and on-time delivery; keep customers informed throughout all cycles of the order with timely, proactive communication.
  • Effectively communicate customer needs, specifications and quality requirements to sourcing, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure a clear understanding of what is needed for each order.
  • Collaborate with internal functions to manage invoices, shipment documentation, credit, warranty claims and related order-entry and documentation support.

Forecasting, Reporting & Administration

  • Regularly update the company’s CRM, CPQ and other software applications; track all contacts, opportunities and activity.
  • Forecast product demand, capacity needs and revenue for the next 12 months; report on regional activities, wins/losses and competitive intelligence.
  • Share insights and best practices with peers and collaborate with support functions to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Demonstrate Lindsay values, behaviors and expectations, focusing on customer attraction and retention through honesty, integrity and strategic communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of B2B sales, business development, inside sales or account management experience in steel, metals, contract manufacturing, industrial products or a related manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of and experience with quoting, estimating inputs, pricing and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read drawings/specifications and communicate technical requirements between customers and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), CRM tools and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and time-management skills; ability to develop and execute to timelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple accounts, quotes and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25–50% within the assigned region.

Preferred

  • Established relationships with OEMs in agriculture, construction infrastructure, transportation, energy/utilities or general industrial markets.
  • Experience managing both direct sales and distribution or independent sales representative channels.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and industry standards applicable to steel tubing and hot-dip galvanizing (e.g., ASTM A123/A153).
  • Demonstrated industry thought-leadership across market stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with strong negotiation, analytical and critical-thinking skills, personal accountability and a positive, professional attitude.
