Job description

Job Summary:
ABB is a global market leader in robotics, currently entering a new chapter with SoftBank Group's acquisition of ABB Robotics. The Engineering Manager will provide strategic direction and leadership for the US Robotics Data Center Business, overseeing a team of engineers to ensure operations meet quality standards and contractual specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Provides input to local division/product group strategy and is a key player in its implementation and in strengthening a business model relevant to the scope of engineering.
• Ensures development of performance targets in line with global/local targets and their achievement through regular oversight, defining required actions for improvement.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships, seeks feedback, and provides innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and deliver improvements.
• Provides engineering support during the bid phase and supports presentation of proposals to customers. Target new opportunities and presents new technology and innovation to clients.
• Leads the local engineering teams that are responsible for solutions, products, or sector areas and ensures end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of projects on time.
• Guides the business in building engineering / operational capability. Supports the local division in establishing and deploying required frameworks / processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business and 10+ years in similar engineering role or special combination of related equivalent work experience and education.
• Project and vendor management.
• Ability to work multiple projects and timelines in multiple time zones.
• Strong budget management.
• Solid team leadership of both internal and contract teams.
