Job description

Our Engineering Team plays an integral role in ensuring our continued operations. This role reports to the Ship Design Director and will be responsible for managing all engineering activities throughout the program lifecycle for assigned program(s).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for organizing engineering team to meet program technical, schedule, and cost requirements to assigned program(s).
  • Defines, develops, and reviews detailed schedules, metrics, and management tools to support contract milestones and deliverables.
  • Monitors system integration, cost and risks, and supportability of ship design in conversion of contract requirements.
  • Monitors program to ensure technical work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Provides the engineering team leadership to overcome technical challenges.
  • Work with engineering leadership to ensure resources are assigned to meet contract milestones and deliverables.
  • Serves as technical lead for subcontract management to include the review, approval, and oversight of design execution for all technical scope of all major subcontractors.
  • Manage design configuration for engineering change including design integration and change adjudication.
  • Support development of Engineering Change Proposal
  • Responsible for technical relationships with customer and program office.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related/relevant field
  • At least eight years of experience of shipyard design and construction
  • At least three of those years of experience in a managerial role
