Job description

MicroHealth is seeking a highly skilled and motivatedย Functional Site Assessorย to support pre-deployment discovery efforts for Electronic Health Record (EHR) system implementations across multiple medical centers. This dynamic float role is designed to move from wave to wave, providing targeted support during critical phases of pre-deployment and deployment activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, clinical systems knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse healthcare stakeholders in fast-paced environments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site Clinical Discovery Questionnaire walkthroughs at hospitals and clinics to identify clinical and functional requirements
  • Lead structured interviews and facilitated sessions with clinical staff, administrators, and IT personnel to gather comprehensive workflow and operational data
  • Document current-state clinical workflows, processes, and system utilization across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Perform detailed gap analysis comparing current capabilities against standard EHR functionalities and client requirements
  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities related to EHR implementation
  • Analyze discovery findings to develop comprehensive assessments of clinical and functional needs
  • Build detailed documentation of specialty services, workflows, and operational requirements
  • Create clear, actionable reports summarizing discovery findings, gap analyses, and recommendations
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all assessment activities, findings, and follow-up items
  • Develop site-specific implementation considerations and recommendations
  • Coordinate with specialty Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the Clinical/Functional team to address complex specialty service requirements
  • Ensure the client's list of standard capabilities, workflows, and services is appropriately considered during discovery and gap analysis processes
  • Facilitate communication between site personnel, implementation teams, and project leadership
  • Participate in regular team meetings, status updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure clinical requirements are accurately translated into system configurations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for site personnel during assessment activities
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Present findings and recommendations to client leadership and project teams
  • Address questions and concerns from site staff regarding the assessment process and EHR implementation
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure smooth transitions between discovery and implementation phases
  • Travel up to 75% to hospitals and clinics in various geographic locations
  • Adapt quickly to different organizational cultures, workflows, and clinical environments
  • Manage multiple site assessments simultaneously across different implementation waves
  • Maintain flexibility to adjust schedules and priorities based on project needs

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Nursing, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare settings, preferably in clinical operations, health IT, or EHR implementation
  • Demonstrated experience conducting site assessments, workflow analysis, or process improvement initiatives in healthcare environments
  • Previous experience with hospital and/or clinic operations, including familiarity with both inpatient and outpatient services
  • Strong understanding of clinical information systems and healthcare IT infrastructure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) for documentation and analysis
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting methodologies
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software applications and EHR platforms
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with clinical and administrative staff
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) EHR or similar enterprise EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, Allscripts)
  • Direct experience supporting EHR implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects
  • Clinical background (RN, LPN, Medical Assistant, or other clinical credential)
  • Project management experience or certification (PMP, CAPM)
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards (HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS)
  • Experience with TRICARE, Military Health System (MHS), or Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare operations
  • Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies
  • Experience with process mapping and workflow documentationย 
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) via air and ground transportation
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to navigate hospital and clinic environments, including walking extended distances
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during meetings, interviews, and documentation activities
  • Work may be performed in various healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, and administrative offices
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on site availability and project needs
Salary: $125000-$140000
