What is a Contract EHR Implementation Project Manager?

A Contract EHR Implementation Project Manager is a professional hired on a contractual basis to oversee the process of implementing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in healthcare organizations. Their role involves planning, coordinating, and managing all phases of EHR deployment, including workflow analysis, staff training, data migration, and system testing. They work closely with stakeholders such as IT teams, clinicians, and vendors to ensure the EHR system meets clinical and regulatory requirements. The contract aspect means they are typically engaged for a specific project duration rather than as a permanent employee.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Contract EHR Implementation Project Manager?

To thrive as a Contract EHR Implementation Project Manager, you need expertise in project management, healthcare IT, and electronic health records (EHR) systems, typically backed by a relevant degree and certifications like PMP or CPHIMS. Familiarity with EHR platforms such as Epic or Cerner, as well as tools like Microsoft Project and workflow mapping software, is essential. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help drive cross-functional collaboration and manage stakeholder expectations. These competencies are crucial to ensure successful, timely implementations that improve clinical workflows and compliance.

Proactive communication, setting clear milestones, and conducting thorough needs assessments can help mitigate these issues. Additionally, collaborating closely with clinical and IT teams ensures workflow alignment and smoother transitions, leading to successful EHR adoption.

Job description

Job Title: Retailer implementation Administrator(New Customer Onboarding)

The Mission As our Implementation Project Manager, you are the architect of the customerโ€™s first experience with us. You will own the critical window between "Signed Contract" and "Successful Go-Live." Your goal is to transform complex internal setups into a seamless, high-touch onboarding journey that builds immediate trust and long-term loyalty.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Orchestrate the Launch: Lead the end-to-end implementation of new accounts, serving as the "command center" for every kickoff, milestone, and final delivery.
  • Sync Cross-Functional Teams: Act as the glue between Sales, Operations, and IT. Youโ€™ll ensure internal requirements are met accurately and in the right sequence so nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Be the Customerโ€™s Champion: Serve as the primary point of contact. You will translate technical jargon into clear, "customer-friendly" updates, ensuring clients always know exactly where their project stands.
  • Master the Process: Maintain rigorous checklists and workflows to ensure 100% accuracy. You donโ€™t just follow the playbookโ€”you look for ways to automate and improve it for the next project.
  • Solve & Prevent: Proactively spot bottlenecks before they become delays. You are the person who has a "Plan B" ready before the customer even knows thereโ€™s a problem.

Who You Are

  • An Exceptional Communicator: You possess active listening skills and the empathy to understand a customerโ€™s perspective, making them feel supported and confident.
  • A Detail-Obsessed Executor: You thrive on organization. To you, a project plan is a living document that requires constant precision and proactive management.
  • An Influential Leader: You can rally internal teams and drive deadlines even when you donโ€™t have direct authority over the people involved.
  • Accountable & Proactive: You take full ownership of the "Go-Live." If a deadline is at risk, youโ€™re already collaborating on a solution.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4+ years in project management, account implementation, or operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Salesforce CRM is required.
  • Software Skills: Mastery of meeting and collaboration software such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams including scheduling and session management.
  • Track Record: Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Success in Year One Looks Like:

  • New accounts are launched on time, error-free, and with high customer satisfaction scores.
  • Internal stakeholders view you as a reliable, clarifying force in the implementation process.
  • You have optimized our Salesforce onboarding workflows to improve visibility and scalability.
