Position Summary

These positions will support Frontage China growth. The areas of focus include Medicinal Chemistry & CDMO, Drug screening, DMPK, Safety Toxicology and Bioanalytical services.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, collaborate on, and execute business development strategies for assigned services.
  • Build and lead a BD team to support growth in China and consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Sell both end-to-end solutions and standalone services, with a strong focus on cross-selling opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships while identifying and engaging prospective customers.
  • Generate new business through direct outreach, referrals, trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, including trade shows and conferences.
  • Respond promptly to incoming leads and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
  • Identify key decision-makers, assess client needs, and drive the full sales cycle from qualification to closure.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of interactions and activities within the CRM system.
  • Build and manage a robust, up-to-date sales pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, quotations, and client contracts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the full-service portfolio to enable effective cross-selling.

Education and Experience

  • BS or MS degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • 5–10 years of business development experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry.
  • Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of the CRO landscape in China.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven sales success in drug discovery (Chemistry, Discovery Biology, and DMPK), with consistent growth results.
  • Solid understanding of CRO, biotech, and pharma industries, including bioanalytical studies (GLP and non-GLP).
  • Ability to evaluate business opportunities, develop strategic recommendations, communicate effectively in English, collaborate with scientific and marketing teams, and close deals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in proposal development, contract negotiation, and project management.
  • Strong presentation, analytical, sales, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, customer-focused, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate as part of a team, and lead teams when opportunities arise.
