IT - DES - Security Analyst - Intermediate
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Contract: 12 months, with potential extension
Max Bill Rate: $73.68/hr

About the Role
Join the State of South Carolina's team as a Security Analyst - Intermediate and directly contribute to the state's cybersecurity and data protection initiatives. Work in a modern hybrid environment alongside dedicated professionals, leveraging cutting-edge tools to protect critical data and systems. This is a unique opportunity to expand your expertise in DLP, Insider Risk Management, Copilot/AI data security, and more.
Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise systems for security threats and vulnerabilities
- Respond to security incidents and support containment and remediation efforts
- Conduct risk analysis and internal audits to ensure alignment with security policies
- Manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and Insider Risk Management processes
- Evaluate vendor security practices and participate in security reviews
- Oversee device patching to maintain up-to-date protection across endpoints
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to support AI and Copilot data security requirements
Required Skills and Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in enterprise cybersecurity operations
- Hands-on experience in threat monitoring, incident response, and risk analysis
- Practical knowledge of DLP, Insider Risk Management, and vendor security review
- Experience with auditing, device patching, and cybersecurity best practices
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Copilot/AI data security measures
- Experience working with public sector or government IT environments
