We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting function for a growing organization. This is a highly visible role that combines strong controllership fundamentals with financial analysis and business partnership. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while helping leadership better understand profitability, operational trends, and the key drivers impacting business performance.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and provide leadership to an experienced accounting team
  • Prepare financial statements and develop meaningful reporting and analysis for leadership
  • Analyze profitability, margins, labor productivity, and financial performance across departments, service lines, and jobs
  • Identify trends and operational drivers behind financial results and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Team with leadership, outside CPAs, auditors, and other financial partners on budgeting, forecasting, audits, ESOP valuation activities, and other financial initiatives

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting, finance, controllership, or operational finance experience
  • Strong GAAP knowledge with demonstrated experience in month-end/year-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to identify trends, investigate variances, and explain the drivers behind business performance
  • Experience in a service or construction environment preferred
