Marketing Technology Content Strategist

Role Overview

The Content Strategist plays a critical role in a project thats driving the transformation from traditional page-based content to structured, modular, AI-ready content.

This role partners across content, marketing, and technology teams to define, design, and operationalize content structures, models, and governance that power scalable digital experiences. The focus is on enabling content to be findable, reusable, personalized, and optimized for AI-driven experiences across Schwab.com and associated platforms.

This work directly supports the Content Structure & Enablement workstream within the Moonshot project, ensuring content is engineered to meet both current redesign needs and future AI use cases.

The Opportunity

As part of the Moonshot Site Rebuild, this role will:

• Help transition from unstructured, page-based content to structured content models

• Establish the foundational content layer required for AI-powered experiences, search, and personalization

• Enable content owners and marketers with clear frameworks, tools, and training to operate in a new model

• Drive alignment between content strategy, UX, and technology implementation

What You’ll Do

Content Structure & Modeling

• Design and implement structured content models aligned to Moonshot templates and content types

• Translate business and UX requirements into modular content components, schemas, and metadata models

• Help define content relationships, taxonomy, and controlled vocabularies to support discoverability and reuse

• Partner with CMS and engineering teams to ensure models are system-ready and scalable

AI-Ready Content Enablement

• Ensure content is structured to support:

o AI-driven search and retrieval (RAG, semantic search)

o Personalization and segmentation

o Content automation and reuse

• Help define metadata and tagging strategies that improve AI understanding and output quality

• Partner with AI/LLM stakeholders to align content structures with LLM and downstream AI use cases

• Identify opportunities to optimize existing content for AI consumption and generation

Enablement & Adoption

• Develop and deliver clear guidance, documentation, and playbooks for content creators

• Translate complex concepts (structured content, metadata, AI readiness) into practical workflows

• Facilitate working sessions with content owners and marketers to drive adoption

• Support change management efforts to shift from waterfall content models to iterative, modular workflows

Governance & Operationalization

• Help operationalize and reinforce content governance standards across the content ecosystem

• Define rules for:

o Content creation and assembly

o Metadata application

o QA and publishing workflows

• Partner with cross-functional teams (UX, Design Systems, Tech) to ensure consistent implementation

• Contribute to a scalable content operating model for post-launch sustainability

Key Skills

Structured Content Expertise

• Proven experience in content modeling, taxonomy, and metadata design at scale

• Deep understanding of modular content systems and headless CMS environments

AI & Emerging Technology Acumen

• Deep knowledge of how content powers:

o Large Language Models (LLMs)

o Semantic search / vector-based retrieval

o AI-driven personalization

• Ability to translate AI requirements into practical content structure decisions

• Experience optimizing content for machine readability and automation

Strategic Thinking

• Ability to connect content decisions to business outcomes (conversion, engagement, speed, compliance)

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Strong communicator across marketing, UX, and engineering teams

Required Experience

• 5+ years in content strategy, content architecture, or content engineering

• Hands-on experience with:

o Content modeling and structured content implementations

o CMS platforms and digital experience ecosystems

o Taxonomy, metadata, and content governance frameworks

• Experience supporting large-scale site rebuilds or digital transformation programs

• Direct experience with AI-enabled content, search, or personalization systems

Preferred

• Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries

• Familiarity with design systems and component-driven UX models

• Experience contributing to content migration at enterprise scale

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54.00 - $57.00/hr.
