WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a local contract nurse RN Acute Care for a local contract nursing job in Rochester, New York.

WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced  Telemetry Registered Nurse  for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in  New York. This role is ideal for a clinically strong RN with advanced cardiac monitoring skills and a passion for delivering high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced acute care environment.  


Job Function:

  • Shifts: 3x12 Nights (36 hours)
  • Monitor cardiac activity using EKG equipment and continuously track heart performance.  
  • Analyze EKG results,  identify  abnormalities, and document findings accurately  
  • Oversee and support cardiac stress testing procedures.  
  • Provide emergency interventions for cardiac events and other life‑threatening conditions  
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
  • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, medications, and follow‑up care prior to discharge.  
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal  patient outcomes.  

Job Requirements:

  • State License: Active New York (NY) nursing license must be "in hand" at the time of submission (pending licenses are not accepted).

  • Return Staff Policy: Must have a 1-year separation from the health system if previously employed there.

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience.

  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted.

  • Charting Experience: Epic charting experience is a hard requirement.

  • Required Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • NIHSS (Stroke Certification)

  • Phlebotomy & IV Skills: Mandatory competency with both phlebotomy and placing peripheral IVs (required skill for all Unity RNs).

  • Telemetry Skills: Strong proficiency in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

  • Respiratory/Airway Skills: Non-invasive airway management, administration of oxygen via nasal cannula, face masks, and portable oxygen tanks.

  • Other Required Skills: Activation/use of Rapid Response and Code teams, Hoyer lift operation, and strict adherence to isolation precautions/PPE.
