This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.
DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste Services
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
LOCATION: CTS: 1208 E. 56th Avenue
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of Duties
Under general supervision of the Solid Waste Services (SWS) Director, the Contract Administrator is responsible for administering various service, maintenance, and construction contracts for SWS, ensuring contractor compliance with contract terms and conditions. Applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and procedures shall be followed as promulgated by the Municipal Charter and Title 7 of the Anchorage Municipal Code and in a manner consistent with the Department's operational policies and procedures. The position involves developing, preparing, and administering various contracts including on-call trade services, petroleum services, telematics and GPS, tire and parts supplies, preventative maintenance and major repairs, IT services, operational services, and minor capital projects. A strong understanding of contract administration, project management, and municipal law, ordinances, and policies is required to effectively resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and perform other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and three (3) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and five (5) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
High school diploma, GED or equivalent and seven (7) years of experience in the field related to the position.

A Valid State of Alaska Driver's License
Satisfactory national criminal background investigation
Current Copy of your Department of Motor Vehicle FULL driving record
